BUILDING SCIENCE 2

In this module students are provided an understanding of building acoustics in relation to building design and construction. We are introduced to the field through acoustic history, practical measurements, sound insulation, reverberation, and noise, internal and external to the building. We are also given the chance to use the lux meter and sound pressure level meters to experience illuminance and sound level.

Final Report

The objective of this project is as follows:

To be able to show understanding of artificial lighting and day lighting strategies (PSALI) in their final design.
To be able to solve design problems in relation to sustainability issues (natural lighting, site analysis).
To be able to design spaces incorporating artificial and day lighting (when necessary).
